After a pleasant trundle up to the Palau Nacional from Pl. Espanya (popping into the Musea Naçional d'Art Catalan) then around the side of Montjuic (seeing as the Olympic Stadium was being consumed by scaffold and netting) on the way to the cable car this chimbley (one of three) arranged itself pleasantly on the skyline. Hopefully once the Sagrada Famila gets the central tower it should stand out a little more clearly but at the moment the skyline is dominated equally by chimbleys, apartments exceeding the more sedate height of the city center blocks and only the occasional fancy churchy thing. There were also a reassuringly large number of cranes around the place; I sometimes feel that Edinburgh has far too many for so small a city.
