Young Mallard Drake

This is one of this years youngsters getting his new feathers in order. You can just see the blue/green head feathers starting to come through.They now have their full flight feathers so it will be interesting to see if they stay @ our local moat.Or fly off to pastures new? We had about 30 ducklings this year.All we have to do now is stop the Migrants shooting them for Xmas dinner!
