Grey day

This photo pretty much sums up today. Grey and dismal.

The trees are still bare. The grey sky speaks of cold weather. And both are a reminder that summer is not coming any time soon.

Yet through this God has spoken to me.

Often in life we lose our leaves and are left feeling bare and vulnerable against a grey sky, either through the death of a friend or family member, the loss of a job, a broken relationship, or failure.

But God says that He will bring us new life. John 10:10 says "....I have come that they may have life, and life in abundance." He also promises us in Psalm 92:12 that "The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar in Lebanon."

God is promising that He will see us through the grey days of winter and bring us new life and growth in the new season of spring. And because of it we will be stronger.

"They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green." -Psalm 92:14.

On another note, when it's cold and grey and rainy, I do love being inside with a blanket and movie.
