Paint your palette blue and gray

This picture doesn't do credit to the painting, which was done very recently by my lovely (89 year old) mother-in-law, Margaret. She went to the Slade School of Art in her youth but a war, marriage, 5 children and a severe stroke in her fifties all put paid to artistic aspirations. However she has started painting again with the aid of the care home staff.
We've been to visit her (and my father-in-law) today, in Cardiff. We hadn't planned to go this week but sadly Margaret is very ill ... happily her smiles are as beautiful as ever.
It might have been silly driving to Cardiff today, what with the NATO summit starting there (or more accurately in Newport) tomorrow. I haven't seen that many policemen in South Wales since the miners strike. But as it turned out the traffic was fine ... and it was good to see Margaret.
