From Now On...

Fruit and Nut.......!

It's been a good first day back and the class seemed happy to be with friends again. Just a little bit of law and order to be enforced! They DO love talking!

'Others' of us were not at work today and enjoyed a walk following the course of the River Shuttle towards Bexley (new to me!) and brought back these cobnuts or hazelnuts. I love their velvety frilly cases looking almost like tentacles!

Wikipedia tells me;

Hazelnuts are used in confectionery to make praline, and also used in combination with chocolate for chocolate truffles and products such as Nutella and Frangelico liqueur. Hazelnut oil, pressed from hazelnuts, is strongly flavoured and used as a cooking oil.
Hazelnuts are rich in protein and unsaturated fat. Moreover, they contain significant amounts of thiamine and vitamin B6, as well as smaller amounts of other B vitamins.

Chocolate... liqueur.......Nutella...chocolate truffles.....oh and protein, thiamine and vitamin B6 too so quite healthy really!
