I now live in the converted attic of Barton - a C19th wooden Ottoman building - (here) - with its sloping roof that provides me with plenty of storage. The trees are still in full leaf and I am surrounded by parrots in the branches and occasional crows on the roof ! (had one walk across my skylight earlier much to Elizabeth's considerable interest) and it is all rather surreal and very different from my old (ground floor) apartment. It is also incredibly hot and humid up here. The cats, who both spent all day outside, are flaked out on my bed while I have passed another evening emptying boxes. This is at the end of a tedious day spent sitting in the theatre listening to people talk until my bum was numb.
