Dry stone wall on Y Llethr

We came across this stunning example of dry stone walling skill on the approach to the summit of Y Llethr - the highest and yet less visited of the Rhinogs in Mid Wales.

I love the way that the stones were angled and layered so that they are perpendicular to gravity rather than the slope to reduce the risk of slip. The top row of protector stones were also in very good condition. Amazing that they have built these all the way to the summits of these mountains (Y Llethr is 756m).

The walk continued along the ridge to Rhinog Fawr and then circled back around to the forest in the valley below. Fantastic views across to Harlech and Porthmadog with Cadait Idris in the southern background.
