Black Bear at Glacier Park

This bear was close by the road just after we left the village of East Glacier heading back to the west side of the park. It was feeding actively in vegetation, with a compatriot who disappeared just as we stopped. It seemed quite small and thus I think it's certainly a black bear (despite its brown color), rather than a grizzly.

It was a glorious day after yesterday's bad weather, but other than many marvelous views as we drove around south of the park, nothing else of note occurred. We're spending the night in an excellent B&B in Columbia Falls.

Yet another image put up without processing, after the crash of my laptop on the first day of our trip six days ago.
