Looking South

Not the best view of my walk

My daily walk through St Peter's Churchyard often takes me past huddled rough sleepers. They congregate here because there's plenty of space for them where they're left largely undisturbed. This 'high' Anglican church is remarkably tolerant and helpful. Bournemouth street pastors operate out of the church, The Salvation Army meal run comes here twice a week, and sometimes they open the church all night so that people can go inside, have refreshments, and ask for help if they want it.

Unfortunately rough sleepers are a messy lot. I now carry a plastic bag with me and clear up some of the rubbish as I walk through the churchyard.
