Monuments and Bullet holes

During yesterday's service, Mayble told the story of how Nannie was saved by this war memorial in the town centre. When the attacking fighter plane tried shooting my gran and others in the town, back in the 1940's, it proved to be quite unsucessful, if you look closely, you can see some little worn holes in the rock where bullets hit.
