Too many graves

The War Cemetery at Bayeux, full of the graves of soldiers and aircrew who died during and after the D-Day landings, is a beautiful and sobering place. We laid a wreath in memory especially of the Linlithgow men who lie here - most of our group are from Linlithgow - and played the Last Post, which had an enormous effect.

Now, like the young soldiers we were remembering, we are laughing and drinking together and enjoying one another's company - and that is how it should be.
