A flowery day

These beautiful lillies were given to me last weekend, and now they are coming out, filling the room with their gorgeous scent!
This morning I joined a happy band of flower arrangers in the church, decorating it for a wedding on Saturday. Most people were creating lovely pedestal arrangements, but my task was to do the altar vases. Greenery, cream roses and gypsophila made a delightful combination, to match the bouquets of the bride and bridesmaids.
There were also buckets and buckets of dahlias, grown by the bridegrooms's mother.
Corn was added to the informal arrangements.
In the afternoon our bowls group began again after the summer break. The session lasts for two hours, which I always find just a little too long!!
