"Jack"

This iconic image is that little dog which featured in at least one Lowry picture.

I find this image amusing, quirky and delightful. Always puts a smile on my face. I took this particular version from a notice advertising, of all things, a baby-feeding area!

We went to the Lowry theatre at Manchester's Media City for a performance of War Horse, staged by The National Theatre. It was quite brilliant, and we could not recommend it more highly, - a great night out. The stage horses were incredibly lifelike.

We had spent most of the earlier part of the day in Manchester exploring Chinatown and then Manchester Art Gallery. Entry to this gallery was free and we enjoyed a wonderful exhibition of paintings, as well as a display of 1950's haute couture made by world famous designers to show off Manchester cotton.

Tomorrow's plan is to visit the Museum of Science and Industry in the morning, and then to watch a Premiership Rugby Union game - Sale v Bath.
Hope to find a nice restaurant for our evening meal. Should have earned one by then!
