Glencoe

Today is our last day in the Scottish Highlands, so we decided to head back to Loch Etive to capture some of the many waterfalls along the Etive river which leads into the loch. We stopped off at Lock Linhe on the way, as the clouds were hanging over the tops of the mountains and the colours were beautifully subtle. When we reached the Etive river, we took some long exposures of the waterfalls. I would have blipped one of those, but I had already blipped a big stopper of a waterfall on Wednesday.

Driving back along the A82 we drove through this wide valley, the skies were blue and the clouds were great. The glen is U-shaped, formed by an ice age glacier, approximately 9.9 miles long and the floor of the glen being less than 0.4 miles wide, narrowing sharply halfway along at the Pass of Glen Coe.

Tomorrow will be the long drive home. Will be sad to leave, it's been a great week with stunning locations, fantastic weather and great company.
