Oldest rugby fixture.

Liverpool St Helens began their campaign in South Lancashire/Cheshire One with a recreation of one of the oldest fixtures in the game of Rugby Union, against Manchester. Amidst all the information and memorabilia around the establishment of the Liverpool Club in December 1857 following the now famous game on Liverpool sands it is clear that the provider of the rugby ball on that day, Richard Sykes went on to help establish the Manchester Club. The two clubs then played each other three years later in what is believed to be one of the first ever official matches.
LSH win at Manchester 17-26 , Mark potter scores in the corner.
