The reader

These statues appear disconcertingly in various corners of parts of old Madrid that have undergone restoration. I should have liked to take a picture of an anti -monarchy demonstration complete with flags in one of the squares with a row of riot police standing well back in case of trouble but it all seemed very good natured. Needless to say I didn't have my camera with me!
