Glen Callater

This is the essence of a Highland glen for me - a track following a burn towards distant hills.

We climbed Creag nan Gabhar, and as we reached the top the forecasted light showers turned to steady rain. We had a comfortable lunch thanks to the shelter of my bothy bag. It's a bit like a small tent with no bottom, just sufficient to cover two people as long as they are good friends. It rained all the way back down the ridge, and we were almost down to the track before the sun made a brief appearance.
