Polly's Pictures

One and a half days to shift this lot!

First day of dry stone walling course.
The morning was spent in theory talk and then we had to demolish the broken down wall we are going to repair. This took ages as a lot of the stone had crumbled, but we had to save as many as we could. Each of these bags holds a ton of stone. We thought they all looked nice even shapes until it came to trying to select the right stones to fit in with each other. When we left this afternoon the base layer was down and we have all day tomorrow to finish!
Interesting journey down as my friend's husband had programmed the sat nav for us. We went through tiny hamlets and in the end resorted to the map! The bonus was that we saw a lot of beautiful Cotswold countryside.
I am driving tomorrow so fingers crossed!
