Baking, cooking and forest foraging

The day started well with a new bake of sourdough bread, this time very successful. In fact it was so successful that we immediately ate half a loaf, and later in the day there is only a small piece of that loaf left!
At the same time Janet made 25 jars of chutney, some of them quite large jars!
Soon after it was out to the forest to see if they were any berries. There were, but not many. It took quite a while but we picked a litre of blueberries and a litre of lingon berries, as well as finding some nice cep mushrooms. The ceps are laid out to dry, the blueberries in the fridge for a pie tomorrow and Jan turned the lingon berries we picked into 5 jars of lingon jam - delicious with dark meat or on your breakfast cereals.
(Lingon is a red berry growing in the forest, on low ground shrubs. It's very rich in vitamin C and keeps well.)
All-in-all a good active day!
