Nice clock

I have often admired this rather fine clock above a shop front on Victoria Street outside the Pit amd Pendulum Nottingham, so decided to share it today.
I guessed the premises were once a kind of smithy, judging by the clock's decorative figures, but discovered that it was made for the Ironmongers Lewis and Grundy by G. & F. Cope & Co. Ltd (Who also made the clock for Nottingham's Council House) c.1950

The two blacksmiths would once strike out the quarter hours and hours by hammering on the anvil, but, sadly, now do so no more.
