reverend billy & church of stop shopping

Introducing performance artist Bill Talen as Reverend Billy, a six-foot three-inch icon of political wit and street theatre whose "religious fundamentalism is the holy writ of the First Amendment...," according to revbilly.com. Talen was arrested last week in New York's Union Square for reciting the First Amendment. In the past he has protested Walt Disney World as well as corporate chains including Victoria's Secret. People are constantly seeking his advice to help them curb their desires as non-thinking consumers who waste resources and continue an agenda of thoughtless consumerism and unsustainabilty. He has built quite a following in New York City as he performs regularly with his Church of Stop Shopping Choir.
