Ultimate Flying Machine

At Gosford Estate today expecting not to see any dragonflies. However spotted this red beauty which I think is a male Common Darter. Apart from the colour what impressed me is the powerful muscle structure where the wings join the main body. He would take off occasionally and do a little manoeuvring then land back at the same spot. Love to get an in-flight shot of a dragonfly like this. Maybe next time!
