preparations for Sunday dinner

When our children were young the week was so busy with everyone rushing from one thing to another, we rarely all sat down to a meal together. But I insisted we all got together on Sundays, no social or work engagements alowed between 6 and 8 in the evening. Now though grown up, our sons and daughters still come home with friends and partners for Sunday dinner when they can. The food is not fancy, traditional roast and traditional accompanments (today lamb and mint jelly) and real pudding. So I still stand on Sunday afternoons peeling a huge pan of vegetables to roast. Today there will be 9 of us 2 daughters plus partners, one son, grandaughter and my father, called Great Ga by all the family.
