"In trash we trust"

For the second time today I saw this slogan. We're visiting Palermo for the first time; the city seems impenetrable, unclear on layout; seems there's a surprise round every corner. The man on the scooter looks uncertain and hesitant, the Catholic Church wayside icon is ignored, and the trash of life is getting too much. There is much to learn.
