Times of Refreshing

There are times when, having cried out to God for His help for a season of time, He pours out fresh and living waters that refresh the soul. We are hidden in His mercy and His love.

There are some guests who come to give more than they take. A beautiful book left to stir our faith and remind us of grace. This gift left by perfect strangers, yet it is as though we've known them our whole lives.

The book? Voices From the Past: Puritan Devotional Readings edited by Richard Rushing. Highlighted for us, is the Sept 7th entry (the night of their stay), an excerpt from Thomas Watson's, The Lord's Prayer, pp. 67-73. The first line, grabbing my heart, "We know the kingdom of grace has been set up in our hearts by the change wrought in the soul."
