Tarik, 23, Volunteer IMPACT #Zanzibar

A heartwarming story from our partners in Zanzibar this morning;

"Tarik Khamis is 23years old. He has been volunteering in ZOP since when he graduated from form Six National examination and was unable to continue with university studies.

Tarik has volunteered with the IMPACT Zanzibar team, helping with all the programmes, including the Mobile clinic, Primary ear and hearing care, charity collection and distribution and orthopedic workshop.

Through his volunteering Tarik has developed an interest in artificial limbs development (Prosthetics and Orthotics.) He recently applied and has been admitted to the Lower Limb Prosthetic Technology Course at TATCOT Moshi starting this October 2014.

While the team are definitely going to miss him, they look forward to the future and perhaps even the chance of welcoming Tarik back once he is qualified - helping even more people, through IMPACT's programmes, to gain mobility with the help of Prosthetic limbs."

The photo above shows Tarik helping at one of the Mobile Ear Car camps - thank you Tarik for all your hard work, help and time! Best of luck for your future!
