The second half of life..

A bit chilly

Spent half a day in Invercargill having a look around before hopping on the plane to Christchurch.

It's an interesting town - lovely, friendly people, streets so wide you almost need to use a map to find the other side, the world's fastest Indian tucked away at the back of a hardware store and a sense that the town is indeed struggling, with quite a few empty shops and run down buildings. Still, I shall not be so dismissive of Invercargill in the future - it has been a rather pleasant surprise and - at least in my eyes now - not deserving of the hard time it is given by folks.

A quick flight from sunny Invercargill to freezing Christchurch (this chap was directing the pick-up traffic - I just loved his look and he was very happy to let me take some pics) where I was picked up by M in the van, then a 5-plus hour drive back to Nelson and home around 10.30pm. Tired, happy to have had a successful week but happy also to be home :)
