Tonight we are staying in a moated farmhouse, in a small Essex village.

Earlier today we called at the beautiful village of Finchingfield for lunch, and then drove on to Mersea Island. See here

This island in the Blackwater and the Colne rivers estuary area, is connected to the rest of England by the Stroud, a causeway, which at very high tides is flooded, and cuts the island off completely.

Today it looked beautiful, and the sun glistened on the sea.
We had a short boat trip round the estuary, just getting us ready for tommorow, when our trip will be on a slightly larger boat!
