Chilli harvest

Suddenly all the chillies are ripening. The six plants we have are laden with them and desperate research is going on as to the best means of preserving them.
Two varieties - one a bush kindly given to us by Charlotte A's mother loaded of small and fiery chillies and several piment d'esplanette purchased in the local market. The mainstay of basque cuisine they say. The riper they get, the hotter they get....
Like many vegetables they actually have an ornamental look themselves - next year we must put them in the flower beds.
