Young Bull Elk & Babies

The young spike bulls and some yearling baby boys gathered in the meadow below my house. I waited and waited for the big bulls to appear, but they may have already gone over the hill. The young spikers don't hang out with the big bulls and cows because the big boys are in rut now and it could prove to be the undoing of these younger, smaller boys. Old bulls will take on a car right now.

Same thing happens in cowboy bars on a Saturday night.
