I Saw a Ship go Sailing out

The last day of the Tall Ships Festival. What a sight!

Without the heaving crowd that lined the river on Sunday, it was easier to get around but, the people turned out in force and were soon bustling to get places with a good view. We arrived at Greenwich just in time to get the last available table at the Trafalgar Tavern and our own lovely 56Daisies caught us up. Although those that were right on the water were taken, we could stand on the bench against the railings and get perfect shots. Well, there were a few waving hands and the odd tall head in view but nothing that could seriously mar a photo.

There was an added bonus. We enjoyed good food and thirst quenching drinks as we watched all the ships pass by and played cameras. Needless to say that we stayed there for the entire afternoon. One of the group had his heart set on going over the river to find a place in the yacht club so, left us. A text to Sue later told us that it wasn't such a good idea.

So, the sun shone, the ships sailed and I didn't loose anyone. One by one we drifted away after the event. I took the ferry back to Waterloo with Paul, which topped the day off perfectly... then got on the wrong train!
