The Edge of the Wold

Misty moo-dy

We are approaching the equinox, and today I saw the sun rise and the sun set in almost cloudless skies as we continue to enjoy a late summer flourish. But the blip is of the view from Silverdale Road across Harefield Parrock, Middlebarrow Wood and the wooded limestone whalebacks beyond. On the still cool mornings, the mist rolls up from the low lying, marshy ground of Silverdale Moss to Arnside Tower, and this morning it was being lit by low, bright sunshine. The solitary cow has a few crows in attendance, and it is always crows here, virtually never rooks.

Otherwise an uneventful day in work, thinking and preparing for next week. My dental check-up in the afternoon showed everything in good order, I was tempted to buy some chocolate to celebrate.

Sorry that blips are infrequent and comments are rarer still. Work has been too busy and demanding, and after Gus walks there hasn't been much energy left for anything else.

ps I spoke too soon about the dental check-up. Who would expect an NHS dentist to ring them at 2040 hours to say that after more detailed examination of the X-Rays, a small hole under a filling was visible? He's brilliant, the best ever dentist, he's looked after my teeth for 23 years, I hope he never retires.
