The village of Kilconquhar, Fife.
Kilconquhar Parish Church was built in 1819 to replace an older one from the 1400s which in turn replaced a series of even older churches.

Kilconquhar is off the beaten track and as such is a village that I have driven through once or twice but never stopped to explore until today.

There is a loch beside the village but it is not easily accessible, being surrounded by boggy ground and private estates. I did in fact manage a circumnavigation and in the process found a bird hide (private) belonging to Fife Bird Club and a substantial boathouse belonging to Elie Estate. I assume the boathouse was once used for the purpose of fishing but it will not be in current use as fishing is banned under the terms of the designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Caveat:
This blip is the view as seen from my computer and bears only a 50% resemblance to any view visitors to the area will see. Which 50% depends on which direction you are looking in.
