Emergency Blip: At Least It's Not a Cat

The day got away from me. Started and didn't quite finish a number of things. The project of the moment is trying to re-rope one of the cat scratching posts that's been mightily destroyed. I've done it before, but it doesn't last very long with our two wild animals going at it every day. Got as far as removing all the old rope and staples. Then I did some dead-heading and debris removal in the yard, and distracted myself further by catching up on some paperwork. Because it's Wednesday, we went off to the farmers' market. The highlight of the day was a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich for lunch, with our own lovely tomatoes to brighten things up.

The sunflower? It's what we see when we have our little happy hour on the patio. The brilliant wall of summer yellow is giving way to another phase--more food for the birds and squirrels.
