Thoughtful Thursday...next month the rut!!!!!

Abandoned my Thursday walk in the Surrey Hills to visit Richmond Park instead, so near but have not been there for many years.

It was wonderful to see the deer in such fantastic condition. This male Red Deer is an Imperial Stag because it has 14 points on his antlers. He will be in great fighting form next month when it is the rutting season. I wonder who will end up leader of the herd?
