An End...

also marks a new beginning...

"Shek Kip Mei Estate is Hong Kong?s first resettlement estate built in the 1950s. It also marks the beginning of Hong Kong's public housing development. The Estate is located in Sham Shui Po district and is managed by the Hong Kong Housing Authority. Some older buildings have been demolished and the recent clearance is the last phase of the redevelopment programme. Mei Ho House (Block 41) is in Phase 3 of the redevelopment which also includes Blocks 37, 39 and 40. Demolition of the adjoining Phase 7 has been completed. Having regard to its cultural significance, in particular its role in the history of public housing, the Antiquities Advisory Board has accorded Mei Ho House Grade I historic building status."
About Mei Ho House

Renovation or reconstruction of structures with historic value around Hong Kong has become a much sensitive issue ever since the relocation/demolishing plans for the Queen's Pier.
