Another baling blip

Another fine Indian Summer day . Got the old square baler out for its annual jolly up and down the field. Only use it now to make about 500 bales of straw every year. Last year we managed with no break downs. Thisyear it must have thought it was time for a rest as not long after this photo its pickup reel decided to fall to bits. Phoned my SOS mechanic and went off to round bale. When I came home about 8.30 tonight there was a large pile of bits and the rest away for repair! Ho Hum. On the bright side we finished all the combining tonight. Now only 100 acres of straw and 80 acres of silage to bale and every available shed is full of grain needing dried. Roll on winter!
