The world changed
The calls from children
The fear
The planes hitting the towers, replaced by two beams of light shining upward
The collapse, one by one and the dust, obscuring the bright sun
The heroes
Ground Zero
The field in Pennsylvania
The hole in the side of the Pentagon
The grief
The patriotic fervor, replaced by an ill-conceived war which sullied the flag.
The War on Terror
The loss of individual freedom….
The sun still shines brightly as it did on that day
The flowers still bloom and die and bloom again
We still remember….

But the world has changed
