Cubist Post Box

In Saltaire, it was a toss up between my first cat and this Cubist Post Box at Salts Mill. The Box just beat the cat to the finish. I don't know why I couldn't post the cat, I kept seeing different views and couldn't decide which was the real one.

This box (a cuboid with a wavy flap attached) was used in 1992 for one month only by Royal Mail who used a hand frank on all the mail in the box as a special issue to commemorate the European Single Market. Hockney also designed a stamp for this occasion.

The green painting in the background is Hockney's 'Drive across the Wolds' inspired by a drive from Bridlington to Bradford.
