Last One Standing

The last remaining mill on the quayside in Lancaster, waiting to be converted into flats. Handy for spotting trains on the west coast line. you can see the railway bridge on the left.

The quay in Lancaster was a centre for shipping and manufacturing industry for 250 years. Now it is being redeveloped as housing and only a French restaurant, three pubs and the local radio station remain.

So lots more people and a lot less jobs, the story of the 21st century.
