Arundel castle.

I've always wanted to visit this castle and today I finally did!
What I didn't know, and so got a big surprise, was that it has the most amazing gardens. All the structures - including this fountain - are made from wood. At first glance you think they are stone but then realise you can see the wood grain.
The planting is exotic and beautiful.
There is a grotto with shell mosaic inside and a fountain that has a gold crown balanced on the water going up and down! An original concept from Inigo Jones.
The castle is pretty special too with medieval and Elizabethan parts where the family still live. A wonderful day out.
Home after a nice pub lunch and daughter cooked dinner. Perfect! :-)
