Robert the Bruce

Fun packed busy day! We went to the national trust battle of Bannockburn centre which was opened this year and is full if fancy new technology to teach you about what happened at the battle. We first played a game with other visitors on a fancy virtual battlefield board. TSP and I were given control of all the Scottish regiments against 6 other visitors who had control over double the number of English ones. Guttingly TSP and I lost although I feel we were a bit cheated as we weren't expecting horses to come up the side of the cliff where Stirling castle sits! Then after there was a 'show' on the same board where historians talked you through the real battle. Definitely learned a lot, even if I did want a rematch!
After we headed to the Wallace monument which we climbed right to the top where there were stunning views!
Then this evening we took a trip down, to what turned out to be a really busy bay to watch the stunning fireworks along the forth road bridge to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
