What to Blip?

There are days when nothing happens and you feel hard pushed to find something to photo for blip. Then there are those days when so much happens that you puzzle over which event to put on blip - today was one of those days!
First it was Korsmässomarknad, the big autumn market in Härnösand's town park. This market is always good because those running it only allow quality stuff to be sold and because you meet all your friends from town there, but this year it was particularly lovely because the weather was fantastic too. There were lots of photos from the market that could have gone on Blip.
After the market we were away to the beach at Smitingen. This was as lovely as always, especially in the late summer sun, but we also went swimming. Swimming in mid-September in the Baltic is a fairly momentous event, worthy of a blip. (The water was chilly but not freezing cold.)
Back home in Bötsle it was the village crayfish party, held in a neighbour's barn by a group of the younger generation who have moved in over the last ten years or so, and enriched the village with another generation of small kids. A party in an old wooden barn is always special and both the barn and the people provided several good photos.
However, as you have probably guessed it was the market that provided today's blip. This smith quietly worked away doing the magic that blacksmiths do, turning dull rods of iron into beautiful tools and ornaments. In this photograph he has finished an iron handle for a door or chest and is wiping it with a rag soaked in pine pitch (Stokholm tar) which gives it a dark shinier surface and prevents it from rusting.
Some other photos from the day can be seen on Flickr.
