Walking on water

Headed south to Shropshire and stopped of at Penrith for a walk. Usually we just zip passed as 70 mph-ish.
Blencathra is just a few miles from the motorway junction so great for a wee detour. Teenager was not so keen so took his own little thunder cloud part way up the mountain. Luckily it eventually cleared to reveal a very sunny outlook.
We chose an 'easy' route up - other routes involving lots of scrambling which I will save for another day. The end result was the same - spectacular views from the summit. And the Teenager said 'its wasn't so bad after all', adding that we should come to the Lakes more often - that's probably the best I could hope for.
The route down took us to this lovely tarn which looked tempting for a swim but was of course icy cold. We settled for a sit down and snack.
