Early Morning in Sandend

The sun rose in full splendour this morning directly across the bay from our bedroom window and was the perfect wake up call even though it was 7am on a Sunday.

The tide was out and from our bed we looked across a wide expanse of golden sand to the fields beyond.
I was out before breakfast with the camera to catch the early morning golden glow and had the sleeping village all to myself save a lone dog walker on the beach.

We spent the morning at a car boot sale in the sleepy picturesque village Fordyce and came away having bought 1 doz fresh eggs, so large the box could hardly contain them, and having had, much to his Lordship's dismay, a bacon buttie in the tea room. Delicious.

Later we looked round one of the North East Artists' open studios before visiting Duff House in Banff, a sophisticated Eighteenth Century house restored and now in the hands of Historic Scotland.

A good day without as much as a mention of the R word.
