Farnham Pottery, Wrecclesham

With mum I continued the tour of Heritage Weekend sites in and around Farnham. We had lunch at the large garden centre near Birdworld before visiting here and the church at Tongham.

Farnham Pottery was founded in 1873 by Absalom Harris and remained operating by the same family until 2000. It was bought in 1998 by the Farnham Buildings Preservation Trust and is now run as a pottery specialising in ceramics. A visit was well worth it and I have now added 2 new items to the one I bought yesterday. Mum also bought a vase and nothing we bought was really expensive but all very attractive. There was a sale of pottery upstairs of unclaimed items for a donation and one of my items came from these. The Unclaimed Pot will also be among my future Blip items.

There is tremendous talent to be seen here and it has helped to bring alive an important part of the history of this area for all to enjoy.
