Milking time.

A huge mob of many hundred Jersey dairy cows are pictured walking to the cowshed for the evening milking.There has been a huge expansion in number of dairy farms and the environmental consequences have not been good.Many of these farms use high amounts of nitrogenous fertilizers which results nitrate leaching into our streams and rivers ,thus becoming polluted to an extent.As a trout fisherman and farmer I put a big importance on protecting the environment and so am less than happy with some of these farming methods .
