Setting Up

Every year there is a fair in Stokesley. It arrived yesterday afternoon and this morning they were busy setting it up. By Wednesday late PM it will be ready for customers and will be here until they clear it all away next Sunday morning. By the end of Sunday morning you would never know that it had been there. All the rubbish is cleared and the town left spotless. There is a fine if it isn't.

The origins of of Stokesley’s traditional fairs can be traced back to the granting of royal charter by Henry III in the year 1223-4. Crowds of up to 20,000 attend.
