The back gates

It is almost exactly half-a-mile from my office door to these gates - a return trip that I walk regularly most weeks. The road is the old back approach to the Lews Castle from Marybank Lodge, and I have often taken my blips along this road. Today was another gloriously hot day. The seed-pods were cracking with the heat of the sun and the leaves were shimmering in the sun. I sometime think about the scene that must have appeared when horses-with-carriage clip-clopped along this road. Quite a different existence from today.
