Angle Shades

This is a moth I've been wanting to get in the trap - Angle Shades - a bit washed out, but it will do! I re-positioned my trap last night and got a better catch, with 3 definite and a further 2 possible new species for the garden. This Angle Shades is the 220th moth species recorded in my little garden since I started trapping in late May this year - not bad! I've started writing a short piece about this for the local Invertebrate Group newsletter. To keep the title shorter I used the terminology that has crept in following the Americanism 'birder'. I typed 'My first year as a mother' when I suddenly saw what I'd written!!
